Dr. Ellen Gendler is a board-certified dermatologist in New York City who is highly regarded as a leading authority in cosmetic dermatology. Consistently included in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors list, Dr. Gendler is well-known for her work with Botox and other neurotoxins and soft tissue fillers, including Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma, RHA, and Radiesse, as well as her experience with reactions to cosmetic products. In keeping with her back-to-basics skincare philosophy, she strongly believes that dermatological treatment must be supported by a minimalist skincare regimen to maintain luminous, healthy skin.

Known by her colleagues for her creative lecturing style, she is also considered a master injector and trainer for virtually all of the filler and toxin companies, as well as one of the directors of the Scientiae Palette curriculum, teaching best injection practices to physicians and other medical professionals around the country.

After earning her B.A. from Wesleyan University, Dr. Gendler received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following her internship in internal medicine, she completed her dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center Skin and Cancer Unit, completing additional training in Contact Dermatitis at St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London.

She and her husband, Dr. James Salik, a Clinical Professor of Gastroenterology at NYU Langone Medical Center, reside in New York City.
