Lauren Streicher, MD is a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and the founding medical director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause. She is a Certified Menopause Practitioner of The Menopause Society, serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Menopause, is a Senior Research Fellow for the Kinsey Institute, Indiana University and is the Medical Director of Community Education and Outreach for Midi Health. Dr. Streicher is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.

Dr. Streicher’s Inside Information: Menopause, Mid-life and More, is in the top 1% of Apple downloads. She is a best-selling author and has written multiple books including The Essential Guide to Hysterectomy, and Sex Rx- Hormones, Health, and Your Best Sex Ever. Inside Information , a series of books about menopause includes Slip Sliding Away: Turning Back the Clock on Your Vagina and Hot Flash Hell: A Gynecologist’s Guide to Turning Down the Heat.

She is routinely interviewed as a reliable, accurate source for national publications such as The New York Times, Newsweek, the Associated Press, and dozens of magazines. She writes regularly for Prevention magazine, Us News and World Report and The Ethel from AARP.
Dr. Streicher was the 2019 recipient of the North American Menopause Society Media Award and has been honored with numerous other recognitions, including annual inclusion on Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor Listing.

Dr. Streicher is the medical correspondent for Chicago’s top-rated news program, the WGN Morning News, and has appeared multiple times on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, NPR, Dr. Radio, Nightline, Fox and Friends, The Steve Harvey Show, CBS This Morning, ABC News Now, NBC Nightly News, 20/20, and World News Tonight.

In addition to her consumer books and articles, Dr. Streicher has authored multiple scientific publications and serves on many advisory boards.
She lives in Chicago with her writer-producer husband, Jason Brett, and their dog, KJ. They have four grown daughters.
